Welcome to Northside Middle School, Home of the Titans! 

Northside has a proud tradition of serving the Muncie community by creating an environment for students to excel in academics, athletics and the arts. We have been recognized by the Indiana Department of Education as a Family Friendly School and have received the Purple Star designation as we educate students from a wide variety of ethnic, cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.

Northside is one of the most diverse middle schools in Indiana with students and families from a variety of backgrounds and languages from across the globe.  We recognize the diversity of the students that walk through our doors each day and we strive to meet their individual needs.

Northside offers our students opportunities for High School credit in Algebra 1, Biology 1, Spanish 1 & 2, and Preparing for College & Careers.  Northside also provides a key entry point for students into the Early College Bearcat program, where students can earn College Credit and potentially an Associate’s Degree at Muncie Central High School.

Northside has a robust Dual Language Program for students to be immersed in our Spanish Language Learning throughout the school day.  Also, our Titans have access to Project Lead The Way (PLTW) courses in App Creators, Innovation Makers, Architecture & Engineering, and Medical Detectives.  All students at Northside are provided 1:1 technology with Chromebooks.

We believe that students who are involved in extracurricular activities at school are not only better students, but healthier mentally, physically and emotionally. That's why we offer a plethora of options in Athletics, Clubs, Theater productions, Titan TV productions, and International Travel opportunities.  We are very proud of our Indiana State Champion eSports Team, and our award-winning Bands and Choirs that keep students actively engaged year-round.

Northside values strong partnerships within the community.  We are a Ball State Professional Development School, and we maintain an essential partnership with the BSU Teachers College, hosting 100+ Ball State Practicum Teachers per year.  Our connection with Ball State allows Titans a variety of opportunities that are not available to other middle schools in Indiana.  

Our partnerships with the NMS PTO, Ivy Tech, Meridian Health Services, Open Door, Second Harvest, Glad Tidings and other area churches all provide levels of support to our school family.
