Welcome to Northside Middle School.  Northside is a traditional middle school setting that educates students in grades
6-8. The students attending Northside Middle School are from a wide range of ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds.

Northside’s educational program presently includes two 6th grade teams of five-six teachers each that offer core classes in computer technology, English/ language arts, health, math, science, physical education, and social studies.   The 7th and 8th grade educational program consists of a departmental approach. During the seven-period day, students attend other classes such as art, world languages, family and consumer sciences, industrial technology, physical education, and music. There is a great emphasis placed on meeting the needs of the students.  Gifted and Talented classes at all grade levels offer challenging curriculum for students.  8th grade students also have the ability to earn high school credit in Algebra, Geometry, and Spanish.  Special education and Title I services are also available to meet student needs.

Not only are students at Northside provided a wide range of academic options, they also have the opportunity to participate in a variety of extracurricular activities such as team sports, academic teams, intramural sports, and drama.  Northside’s bands and choirs compete and perform throughout the year.

The physical facilities at Northside include an auditorium which seats 800 people, a gymnasium with a seating capacity of twenty-five hundred, a natatorium (not currently functional), a media center, a professional library,  five computer labs with twenty-eight stations each, and many other facilities which enhance the educational programs.  All students at Northside are 1:1 with Chromebooks.

Northside Middle School has valuable community partners that work with our students and families.  Ball State University, Meridian Health Services, and area churches all provide levels of support to our stakeholders.  The NMS PTO is active and meets monthly.

We look forward to educating your children and fostering a great relationship with your family as we prepare students for Muncie Central High School.
